TIME AND TIDE

contemplative studies of the shorelines of British Columbia
At the still point of the turning world. Neither flesh nor fleshless;
Neither from nor towards; at the still point, there the dance is ...
Burnt Norton.   T.S.Elliot
As a photographer living in a coastal community I am presented with a bounty of visual possibility. My practice is often impacted by the shifting landscape of coastal waters - the tidal interplay providing a rich, ever-changing palette of colour and form. So too, tidal rhythms fundamentally inform of the passage of time and if one wanders the shore at slack tide, a wondrous stillness can be observed before the cycle begins anew.
The contemplative photography herein attempts to capture this dramatic landscape.
